
Applications for 2026 Diaspora Youth Internship Programme has been opened. The EU Global Diaspora Facility (EUDiF), funded by the European Union and implemented by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD). This initiative aims to empower young people with diaspora backgrounds through professional experience, skills development, and meaningful engagement in global diaspora and development work.
The programme offers three full-time remote internships, each lasting five months and beginning in March 2026. Interns must be based in an EU Member State, Switzerland, or Norway during the internship. All positions include a monthly stipend of 1,000 EUR.
Available Internship Positions
1. Capacity Development Intern
Interns will support EUDiF’s Government Mechanism, which strengthens the capacity of public institutions in diaspora engagement. Responsibilities include contributions to research, dialogue activities, capacity development initiatives, grants management, and communications. Each intern will also complete an individual content project such as a think piece, workshop concept, or research note.
Ideal candidate profile:
- Postgraduate level (Master’s student or recent graduate)
- Strong interest in migration, development, diaspora engagement, or global cooperation
- Excellent research, analytical, organisational, and communication skills
- Comfortable working in English and French (Spanish, Portuguese, and Arabic are strong assets)
- Experience with civil society or diaspora organisations is an advantage
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently in a remote setting
