EFF thanks South Africans for standing against racism

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has thanked South Africans for what it described as a strong show of unity against racism, following widespread public support for its #HandsOffCIC campaign.

In a statement and campaign artwork shared on social media, the party expressed appreciation to citizens who it says stood up against racist attitudes and attacks directed at its leadership and supporters.

The message, which features large crowds dressed in red, reads: “Thank you South Africa for standing up against racists.”

The artwork also carries the hashtag #HandsOffCIC, referring to the EFF’s Commander-in-Chief.
The party said the public response shows that many South Africans remain committed to the values of dignity, equality and non-racialism.

According to the EFF, recent events have highlighted ongoing racial tensions in parts of society. The party said it will continue to confront racism in all its forms and defend the rights and dignity of black people.

The EFF also used the campaign to mobilise its supporters, encouraging them to remain active and vigilant in challenging racist behaviour both online and in communities.

Party leaders said the support received sends a clear message that racism has no place in a democratic South Africa.

“The people have spoken,” the EFF said. “South Africans are united against racism and in defence of the dignity of black people.”

The campaign has gained traction on social media platforms, with supporters sharing the image and using the hashtag to show solidarity.

The EFF said it will continue to use mass action, public campaigns and legal processes to challenge racism and protect constitutional values.
