Award-winning Limpopo musician King Monada has sparked heated debate on social media following his New Year’s Eve one-man show, after some fans accused the performance of promoting satanism.
The accusations surfaced after visuals linked to Medusa appeared during the concert. Medusa is a figure from Greek mythology, often described as a woman with snakes for hair. In ancient stories, she symbolised danger and fear. The imagery unsettled some audience members who attended the event.Several videos recorded at the show began circulating online shortly after midnight.
Some users expressed fear and concern over the performance.
One who attend: “This is clear evil. We must be careful.”
Another commented: “I kept praying the whole night. It was scary.”
Others, however, dismissed the claims. Supporters of the artist argued that the performance was artistic and misunderstood. They said the visuals did not promote any religious beliefs or satanic practices. Some accused critics of spreading fear and misinformation.
The King Monada one-man show attracted thousands of fans from across Limpopo and neighbouring provinces. The concert was part of New Year’s Eve celebrations and featured several of the musician’s popular hits. Despite the controversy, many attendees described the event as energetic and well attended.
Cultural commentators online also weighed in. They warned against interpreting artistic visuals as religious messages without clear evidence.

His management team has also remained silent on the matter.
