Julius Malema Dismisses Claims Linking His Family to Vusimuzi Matlala

Julius Malema has strongly denied claims linking his family to businessman Vusimuzi Matlala, also known as “Cat” Matlala.

The Economic Freedom Fighters leader addressed the rumours after they spread widely on social media. Online users alleged a family connection based on surname similarities.

Malema said the claims were false. He stressed that sharing a surname does not mean people are related.
He also rejected viral images that allegedly showed his wife with Matlala. Malema said the photos were fake and digitally manipulated.

According to Malema, the false claims form part of a deliberate disinformation campaign. He said the aim was to damage his name and attack his family.
Malema warned against the spread of unverified content online. He urged the public to confirm facts before sharing information.

He added that his family has no personal or business relationship with Matlala. He said the rumours would not distract him from political work.

Malema concluded by calling on media outlets and social media users to act responsibly when handling sensitive information.
