Johannesburg — Metro FM DJ Tbo Touch, born Thabo Molefe, reportedly borrowed money from a close friend after facing financial pressure linked to his planned move to Australia.
Sources say the broadcaster experienced cash-flow strain while preparing for the relocation. This led him to seek financial help from businessman and long-time associate Lesiba Gwangwa.
The relationship later deteriorated after disagreements emerged over repayments and other financial commitments. The dispute has since progressed to formal legal correspondence between the two parties.
Reports suggest the pressure included costs tied to luxury assets and business ventures that failed to deliver expected returns. These challenges reportedly intensified in the period leading up to the move abroad.
Molefe later relocated to Australia and has shared aspects of his new life publicly. However, the move has also drawn scrutiny, with questions raised about unresolved financial matters in South Africa.
People close to the DJ have disputed parts of the claims. They insist that the amounts are contested and say the issue is now being handled through legal channels.
