Mabasa joins Stellenbosch FC on loan

Orlando Pirates Football Club has confirmed that striker Tshegofatso Mabasa will join Stellenbosch FC on loan for the rest of the season. OkThe player agreed to the move after discussions between both clubs finalized the deal.

The 29-year-old forward struggled for game time at Pirates due to strong competition in the attacking lineup. Coaches decided that a temporary transfer would allow him to play regularly and maintain match fitness while contributing to a competitive team elsewhere.

Stellenbosch acted quickly to secure Mabasa, hoping his experience and goal-scoring ability will strengthen their attack during the second half of the season. The club identified a need for a striker who could convert chances consistently and add tactical flexibility.

Mabasa has scored goals for several PSL clubs and brings leadership to the pitch. He is expected to guide younger forwards at Stellenbosch while helping the team achieve its league and cup ambitions. Coaches will integrate him into matchday squads in the coming weeks.

From Pirates’ perspective, the loan ensures that Mabasa stays active while allowing the club to manage squad rotation effectively. Regular playing time will help him regain confidence, fitness, and sharpness for future seasons.

The loan deal runs until the end of the campaign, with no confirmed option to buy. His performances will be monitored by both clubs, and decisions about his future will follow once the season concludes.

Supporters of Stellenbosch are eager to see Mabasa on the pitch. They expect him to contribute goals, create chances, and boost the team’s attacking dynamics as the season reaches its decisive stages.
